Official Rules
‍

“Arabian Horses Making a Difference in the Community” must depict elements of the Arabian Horse whose history is rich both locally and internationally. Books, Videos, the Internet, and various other mediums can be used by the students to gain insight and ideas into the Arabian Horse.

Final Entries

Finished size (with mat) can be no larger than 11”x14” (5”x7” fits an 8”x10” mat, 8.5”x11” fits a9”x12” or 11”x14” mat)
Submitted entries MUST be matted with white mat board.
Each entry MUST have a hole in the upper left and right corners for hanging purposes.
ALL Artwork is due at the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona office by Friday, January 26, 2024.

Medium

A NON-SMUDGE medium is encouraged; tempera paint, watercolor, crayon, magic marker, printmaking, and mixed media are all welcome. We encourage the students to explore style, content and expression.

Art Work Delivery

Please deliver artwork by Friday, January 26, 2024 to the Arabian Horse Association office. Be sure that the Official Entry Form is complete.

Upon delivery of the artwork, you will receive:

- One T-shirt for each Art Contest entrant
- Two free one day passes for the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show for each entrant’s parent to attend and two two-for-one tickets to invite family and friends.
- Two free one day passes for art teacher who supported their class involvement
- 10 two-for-one tickets for school staff

Judges
‍
‍The panel is composed of professionals who work in the art field, dignitaries, and representatives in the Arabian horse industry. Judging will take place during the show.

Awards
‍
All students who enter the Art Contest will receive an Art Contest T-Shirt from the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona, please make sure the t-shirt type and size is circled. Winners will be announced, and awards presented with photos on Sunday, February 25, 2023 from 11:00 am to11:30 am. Winners in each age division will be awarded as follows: Champion, Reserve Champion and Top Ten winners (10 ribbons per division). Age categories will be as follows:

Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5, Grade 6, Grade 7, Grade 8, Grade 9, Grade 10, Grade 11, Grade 12

Students are asked to wear their Art Contest T-shirts for photos.

11-16-23 - Champions will receive a $25 gift certificate to Blick Art Materials
