Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show - High Point Program

A new Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show High Point Program will be implemented at the 2015 Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show. It is no longer necessary to enter or pay a fee to take part in the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show High Point Program. Every exhibitor and horse will be tracked based on the criteria below. It will be your responsibility to provide the correct Rider/Handler and horse information on your original entry form as no changes will be made after the fact.

Junior Exhibitor High Points

  • Junior Exhibitor 10 & Under Walk/Trot (All exhibitors will be tracked - all walk-trot classes will count towards this award)
  • Junior Exhibitor 14 & Under (All exhibitors will be tracked - all classes main arena Halter & Performance)
  • Junior Exhibitor 15-18 (All exhibitors will be tracked - all classes main arena Halter & Performance)
  • Junior Exhibitor Sport Horse (All exhibitors will be tracked – Dressage, Hunter/Jumper, Sport horse in-Hand & Under Saddle)
  • Junior Exhibitor Working Western (All exhibitors will be tracked – Cutting, Reining, Working Cow, Reined Cow Horse & Trail)

Prize Money will be awarded in each Junior Exhibitor division as follows:

High Point Champion:                                         Prize Money: $250.00

High Point Reserve Champion:                     Prize Money: $125.00

Adult Amateur Exhibitor High Points

  • Adult Amateur Exhibitor 19-35 (All exhibitors will be tracked - all classes: Halter & Performance)
  • Adult Amateur Exhibitor 36-54 (All exhibitors will be tracked - all classes: Halter & Performance)
  • Adult Amateur Exhibitor 55 & Over (All exhibitors will be tracked - all classes: Halter & Performance)
  • Adult Amateur Exhibitor Sport Horse (All exhibitors will be tracked – Dressage, Hunter/Jumper, Sport horse in-Hand & Under Saddle)
  • Adult Amateur Exhibitor

Prize Money will be awarded in each Adult Amateur Exhibitor division as follows:

High Point Champion:                                         Prize Money: $500.00

High Point Reserve Champion:                     Prize Money: $250.00

Horse High Points

  • Overall Performance Half Arabian/Anglo Arabian Horse (All exhibitors will be tracked - all classes Main Ring Performance)
  • Overall Performance Purebred Arabian Horse (All exhibitors will be tracked - all classes Main ring Performance)
  • Purebred Gelding Horse (All exhibitors will be tracked - all classes: Halter & Performance)
  • Overall Sport Horse (All exhibitors will be tracked – Dressage, Hunter/Jumper, Sport horse in-Hand & Under Saddle)
  • Overall Working Western (All exhibitors will be tracked – Reining, Working Cow, Reined Cow Horse & Trail)

Prize Money will be awarded in each Horse division as follows:

High Point Champion:                                         Prize Money: $1,000.00

High Point Reserve Champion:                     Prize Money: $500.00

HIGH POINT SCORING SYSTEM

A 10-point descending scale will be used for qualifying classes as follows: 10 points for 1st place, 9 points for 2nd place etc. in classes with fewer than 10 entries, the winner shall receive the point value equal to the number of horses in the class (i.e., 5 in class, 1st place = 5 points, 2nd Place = 4 points, 3rd Place = 3 points, 4th Place = 2 points, 5th Place = 1 point), not to exceed 10 points per class. Points for Championship classes will be awarded as follows: Champion 15 points, Reserve 12 points and Top Ten will receive 10 points each. The rule for breaking ties will be as follows: 1. High Point Award to be awarded to the exhibitor who has won the most championships. 2. If the tie remains, the reserve championship awards will be counted. 3. In the event the tie still remains, the award will be given to the exhibitor who has then won the most first place awards in classes of five or more exhibitors. 4. In the event the tie is still not resolved, the exhibitors second place awards will be counted.
